This Sunday sees our 3rd consecutive away day when the ladies take on Sutton United at Chipstead FC, just south of Coulsdon. Basically they've been shunted down the road to make way for WSL club Crystal Palace this season. Before that Palace were playing at Hayes Lane, home of Bromley FC.
Former Princes Park tenants London City Lionesses have sinced moved in, having a knock on effect of some considerable benefit to our girls in the food chain.
Talking of food, will you guys at Ebbsfleet be taking a packed lunch with you for your day out with Fulham this weekend? Or will there be a three course meal laid on for you after the game? It's certainly a great time for all you Fleet fans to be following your ladies team at the moment. Why is that you may ask?
Because the weekend will soon be upon you. And yes!
IT'S ANOTHER ROLLOVER!!!
But seriously though, I am expecting you to field your strongest possible side this time.
From the under 15's.
No wonder Paramount pulled out of building a blimming Disney style theme park in the area back in 2017.
It's not like being a few miles down the road from Paris Saint-Germain is it?
In mitigation of such a dreadful planning decision, the twelve times league champions of France do play at the Parc des Princes. I can therefore see where the initial confusion came from before they realised you wasn't the great club they thought you were. You have to go several miles in the opposite direction to get anywhere near a similarly named venue. A little naive perhaps, like the overseas investors in mymugsfootballclub.com, who thought they were buying into a Premier League outfit.
Maybe you'll surprise us with three new recruits, signing Huey, Dewey and Louie before Sunday. Or even smash the transfer record by swooping for Goofy in goal. But you'll have to move quickly before Sutton United beat you to it. I almost included Saltdean in that too but it would be grossly unfair on ex-Dart keeper Faye Baker, who's an excellent signing for them this season.
What a league this is. Talk about never a dull moment.
I'm not even going to buy my rail ticket until the weekend incase Sutton can't field a full team. Our girls only played them last month. Which was immediately followed by U's manager Lucy Clark's risible post match interview, lamenting her team's loss with all the excuses under the sun.
Their girls were battered, bruised, wacked and stamped on as well as being on the receiving end of two-footed tackles, returning to the dressing room, after the final whistle, covered in cuts and bruises. Clark's words not mine. The interview's on YouTube. Sutton's manager was also unable to understand why the referee kept his cards in his pocket? Well, where else is he supposed to keep them then? Strange woman.
Seeing as our girls recently did such a grisly hatchet job on their players, I don't know how many of them will have been discharged, if any, from the local infirmary in time for Sunday. I've still got my match day ticket, purchased online, from when this fixture was postponed last year due to poor weather conditions.
Atleast our girls never got the blame for that one. You're very unlikely to see the likes of Xayla performing a rain dance from the rooftops. War dance, maybe.
I did, however, agree with Lucy Clark when she said the 5-0 scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the game. But not quite for the same reasons though.
