A hard fought contest saw the hosts through to the next round with two first half goals. But there's no doubt Chatham will know they've been in a game this evening.
Otesha Charles opened the scoring with the nippy Guyanese international firing home on 11 minutes.
Ex-Dart Amelia Woodgate should have increased the lead on the half hour mark but pulled her shot just wide of the post.
The second soon arrived in the 42nd minute with a confident strike from the edge of the box from former Chelsea player Darcy Wells.
Then right on the stroke of half time Shauni Griffiths came agonisingly close, forcing an excellent save from Chats keeper Simone Eligon who got down well to parry the ball behind for a corner.
The second half saw our girls continue to work hard to get back into the game.
On 69 mins Amy Russ was desperately unlucky not to pull a goal back with a wonderful curling shot passing the wrong side of the post by a whisker.
Had that gone in, it would have been interesting to see how both sides would have reacted with twenty minutes of normal time remaining.
Although I have no doubt in my mind Chatham would have seen all bar the kitchen sink hurtling their way.
Player of the match I'm going for Shauni for the second game running. She came the closest to getting us back in it, bringing the best out of Eligon at a crucial time in the match.
Everyone battled well with Shauni right in the thick of it. As usual. I never expect anything less from her.
